S-42 Speed king chain-clutch / elephant foot

The CONTECH® S‑42 Speed King chain‑clutch / elephant foot is a robust and efficient chain‑tensioning device developed for fast and reliable securing of 13 mm lashing chains on board Ro‑Ro and general cargo vessels. Its design combines two essential functions:

• Chain‑clutch mechanism: Allows quick engagement and secure locking of the lashing chain, ensuring high tension can be applied with minimal manual effort.
• Elephant foot fitting: Designed to fit directly into the vessel’s certified deck sockets, providing a stable and safe anchoring point that transfers the lashing forces into the ship’s structure.

Thanks to its compact build and durable steel construction, the S‑42 performs reliably even under harsh marine conditions. The Speed King can be tensioned using either the pneumatic ratchet S‑98P or the battery‑operated ratchet S‑98E, enabling fast tightening operations and reducing physical workload for the crew.
